Not an Inspirational Blog
I was told I could write, so I decided to abuse my right.
But I'm not looking to inspire anyone.
Please, if you're looking to be inspired, this is going to be a waste of your time. I'm just gonna crack jokes about the happenings of a 32 year old Peruvian dude living in America. From what I see in humanity’s most trusted gambles to my most wholehearted moments with my true passion: food.
If my travels inspire you, have a beer with me. If they don’t, join the club. They don’t inspire me either.
Why a blog? I started this idea many years ago, I just never thought I could do something without a purpose. As a business owner, former Architecture major, Musician, Workaholic in recovery, and overall Millennial without the notion of what retirement could look like, I’ve never made anything that didn’t have a tangible end. My teens and twenties have been plagued by the idea that everything I do, has to have a purpose, and I’ve never changed this policy. So I recently thought: why not try to actively do something for myself as a way to not* work on everything else? Not as an outlet necessarily, but something to do for myself as a human, instead of a brand.
My coaching business takes all the time I can think of, and I’m constantly learning something, working on something, or learning on how to work on something. Sound familiar? Then you’re my people.
So this is what the blog will be about: Dating stories, dinosaurs, Marvel comics, all kinds of growth (fuck yeah), lessons I learned in therapy, amazing food, and most importantly: taking time for myself so I can be congruent with the life I’ve decided to lead. I can’t tell people to be kind and take time for themselves when I don’t do it myself. Ever heard of not being able to get water from an empty well? This is that type of deal.
Who knows, maybe we become friends. Maybe you can find a lesson in the fucked-up-ness that my Tuesday afternoons provide. Maybe you need a laugh after a long day, or you wanna see things in a different perspective and decide you can laugh about many of them with ease.
Maybe you even get inspired. Don’t though, we’re here for the tacos.
